National Trails Day
Saturday, June 2 from 10:00am – 11:00am
Take a walk with us to celebrate Connecticut National Trail Days. This leisurely guided 1.5 mile hike through the Connecticut Audubon Society’s Larsen Sanctuary will pass through the sanctuary’s temperate deciduous forest as well as ponds, a garden marsh, meadow and swamp. There will be time to explore an old foundation and visit Deer Meadow Hawk Observation Platform. The varied terrain is of easy-to-moderate difficulty.
Meet in the Nature Store and end with a complementary cup of Birds & Beans Shade Grown Organic Certified coffee. Roasted inNew England, it is USDA-approved, 100 percent organic, and certified Bird Friendly by the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center (SMBC). Connecticut Trails Day is part of National Trail Day. It is part of National Trails Day, a nationwide hiking initiative established by the American Hiking Society in 1993. Trails Day encourages the public and outdoor enthusiasts nationwide to seek out their favorite trails while participating in numerous events held in each state.
