Path to Long Island Sound Reopens at Milford Point

October 27, 2016 – Visitors to the Milford Point Coastal Center can again walk directly from the building to the beach, with the reopening this week of a path that had been closed since a car fire there on October 7.

Charred and damaged wood from the old boardwalk has been removed; some of the walkway now consists of a path through the sand. The Connecticut Audubon Society is working to replace the boards but the sandy path is open and the beach and observation platform are again accessible.
