Fern Walk

Enjoy a shady stroll along the trails of Deer Pond Farm and discover the various ferns common to Connecticut. Connecticut Audubon Society Master Naturalist volunteers, Diane Nizlek and botanist Jim Cortina will share the basics of identification and reproduction as well as a few fun facts on some of the oldest plants on our planet and their connection to our local birds.
Allow for an average of two hours. Dress for walks that cover approximately 1.5 miles along moderately hilly terrain and the weather. Inclement weather cancels. Bring binoculars, camera and a sense of adventure.
