Connecticut Audubon’s Roger Tory Peterson Estuary Center Invites Community to Rhythm of the River
Annual Benefit Celebrates & Supports Conservation
Connecticut Audubon’s Roger Tory Peterson Estuary Center invites the community to Rhythm of the River, a fun, whimsical, tented event on the lawn on September 13, 2024, beginning at 5:30 p.m. The annual benefit raises funds to support conservation events, workshops, and education programs.
Enjoy rhythmic sounds of steel drums along the Lieutenant River with music by Caribbean Vibes Steel Band; signature cocktails by Ripe Bar Juice; hors d’oeuvres by Coffees Country Market, including lobster rolls and freshly shucked oysters from Copps Island; and a live and silent auction.
All proceeds from this event will support the science-based environmental education, research, and advocacy programs of the Roger Tory Peterson Estuary Center.
Docents from A Place Called Hope will greet guests with three estuary birds of prey: the Barred Owl, a male American Kestrel and a Peregrine Falcon.
A live auction will include a weekend in the Adirondack Mountains near Lake Placid at a private four-bedroom home with all the bells and whistles; a fun and festive cocktail party for 24 at the RTP Estuary Center; a handcrafted, custom copper and bronze birdbath by designer Roger DiTarando; sail the estuary waters aboard a gorgeously restored 47’ antique commuter with drinks and nibbles for six. A silent auction will feature a host of special experiences and items, from local restaurants to luxurious facials, to original art, golf and tennis membership to fine liquor.
The cost for the event is $150. Tickets are limited.
