- Collect data that helps protect Osprey habitats and guide conservation efforts

If you find one or more nests you’d like to monitor in 2025, sign up HERE.
In the years since Osprey Nation began in 2014, well over 1,200 people have volunteered on behalf of the state’s Ospreys.
But each year, as the number of nests increases and as previous volunteers move on to other things, there’s a need for additional volunteers.
Volunteers choose or are assigned a nest, which they visit at least twice a month, from April until late in summer. They take and submit notes on their observations, especially the number of young Ospreys in the nest, the number who successfully leave the nest, and the dates on which that happens.
It’s an enjoyable task, and many volunteers have continued on for several years or more. Some of the nests are reachable only by boat, so if you are a sailor please consider volunteering.
Thank you!
