Nest Watch

NestWatch is a monitoring project through the Cornell Lab of Ornithology that tracks the reproductive biology of birds. Participants track when and where nests occur, how many eggs are laid and how many hatch, and how many nestlings survive. With habitat loss and climate change affecting bird populations worldwide, it is important to monitor trends and changes over time. The RTP Estuary Center has two Eastern Bluebird boxes, as well as a dozen Purple Martin gourds that we monitor for nesting species.
