Nest Watch

NestWatch is a monitoring project through the Cornell Lab of Ornithology that tracks the reproductive biology of birds. Participants track when and where nests occur, how many eggs are laid and hatch, and how many nestling survive. With habitat loss and climate change affecting bird populations world-wide, it is important to track trends and how they have been changing over time. The RTPEC has two Eastern Bluebird boxes, as well as a dozen Purple Martin gourds that we monitor for nesting species.

For more information and how to participate, visit Cornell’s NestWatch site.
