Migration Magic 2024 Birdathon Prizes

We are happy to announce the winners of the Migration Magic 2024 Birdathon: Pavana Attonito, Frank Mantlik, Olivia Vignola, and Linda Olsen.

Participants in Connecticut Audubon’s Migration Magic Birdathon, which runs from May 1-31, 2024, will have a chance to win great prizes.

The Grand Prize winner will be chosen by random drawing.

To be eligible all you need is to:

Register for the Birdathon

See or hear 50 species during May 2024.

Submit eBird checklists via the eBird Trip Report

Raise at least $50, including your $10 Birdathon entry fee.

We’ve awarded the Grand Prize by random drawing the past several years to make it much easier for everyone to compete. You don’t have to see the most species or raise the most money. Just r=sign up and meet these easy criteria!

Grand Prize Drawing – open to all participants

The Grand Prize is a framed pastel, with 12K gold leaf, of a female American Goldfinch (shown here), by artist Anne McGrory. It has an estimated value is $1,500, and is 13 inches high by 7.25 wide.

McGrory is a New Hampshire artist who graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design. Her gallery’s website says, “She is a Master Pastelist member of The Pastel Society of America, a juried artist member of the Salmagundi Club and the International Guild of Realism.”

“Autumn Wings,” a print of the Migratory Bird Hunting and Conservation Stamp for 1988, by Maynard Reece.

16 inches high by 16.5 wide, professionally matted and framed. Limited edition print signed by the artist.

Most money raised by a Birdathon participant

Two tickets to Infinity Hall, Hartford, for a concert by Josh Ritter, on Friday, June 7; and a night’s stay for two at the Interlaken Lakeside Resoirt in Lakeville, Connecticut.

Samantha DeMarco took her 2023 winning photo at the Derby Greenway. Contest judge Heather Wolf said of it: “This is a beautiful habitat photo with superb framing that draws me right into the creek.”
