9:30 to 11 a.m.

West Rock Ridge State Park offers trails with jaw-dropping vistas and has one of the highest concentrations of rare and endangered species of any park in the state. Bird sightings could include varieties of hawks, owls, bald eagles and woodpeckers; migrating warblers, vireos, blackbirds, and insect eaters; and also water species on Lake Wintergreen. All levels of birders welcome.

Pre-registration is required. CAS Members $15; Non-members $20. Please register here.

This walk takes place at West Rock Ridge State Park, 1080 Wintergreen Ave. in New Haven. Travel on Wintergreen Ave past the SCSU field house and follow signs to meet at the Nature Center Don’t forget your binoculars!
