July 17
- Glastonbury. Sue Apito
- Griswold – “In Pachaug State Forest yesterday one flew up and perched at eye level where I park when I stopped on Trail II Rd. This week I see some each morning at the Texas bluebonnet flowers in my front yard (I keep about a dozen stalks).” Brian Williams
- Oxford – “At the feeder on my deck all day, male and female. The most activity is early morning or an hour before dark.” Sal De Fini
- Hamden – “Male Ruby Throated comes to the feeder every 1/2 hour or so. I see the female every now and then.” Robyn Charmel
- South Windsor – “Have a hummingbird feeder on the kitchen window. Have seen hummingbirds here many times daily since May.” Steve Lewis
July 16
- Amston – “They have been at our feeders for over a month now.” Karen Christman
- Plainfield – “All day, everyday. I am seeing 6-8 daily, mostly females. The young ones are so tiny.” Donna O’Day
- Warren – “Have at least 3 hummers at my feeders every day. Have had as many as 5. I believe a pair nested in one of my trees but can’t find the nest!” Linda Ajello.
- Mansfield Center –“Fledglings and adults, the adults feed at the feeder one at a time, when the young come they will come to the feeder in pairs sometimes. I have two sweet water feeders and my husband has filled the yard with flowers so they have been feeding while nesting and are still here.” Tina Abell.
- East Hartford – “Female and or youngsters. All day long at one particular single feeder. I need to fill the feeder every 24 hours.” Carol Stevens
- Near the border of Wilton and NY – “Fewer than last year. 3 rubies. 1 male 2 females. We also haven’t seen any butterflies.” Laurel Sheck
- Bolton – “Been feeding throughout the day at our feeder since late May. Males and females. Our favorite sighting is when the male does his courting dance — huge U-shaped swoops through the air.” Anne Decker.
