Osprey Cam
Enjoy the Osprey Cam! Coming to you live from the Coastal Center at Milford Point.
As July progresses, the Osprey chicks are getting big. The male Osprey often waits on a perch on the right side of the screen. The female, in the nest with the two young birds, which still can’t fly, sometimes calls with what seems like great urgency. The young birds look around to see what’s happening. The male flies off, maybe to bring back another fish.
The Milford Point nest is one of more than 900 in Connecticut. Statewide, more than 400 volunteers are monitoring close to 1,000 Osprey nests as part of Connecticut Audubon’s Osprey Nation program. You can learn more about the state’s Ospreys, and about the conservation work that you contributions enable, on the Osprey Nation webpages.
