Summer Teacher-Naturalist
Summary
The Connecticut Audubon Society’s, RTP Estuary Center in Old Lyme, Coastal Center in Milford and Fairfield Center are looking for Summer Camp Teacher-Naturalists!
Teachers will plan and teach a variety of topics within the weekly theme that allow children to experience the outdoors through hands-on activities, games, hikes, guided nature explorations, and art all the while fostering a fun learning environment. and developing a lifelong love of nature!
Responsibilities:
- Teaching outdoor science and nature programming to children ages 5 to 13 in an outdoor setting.
- Teachers will be expected to prepare and implement curriculum, and teach on a variety of topics that allow children to experience the outdoors through hands-on: activities, games, hikes, guided nature explorations, and arts and crafts.
- Supports summer camp program logistics including setup/cleanup and materials preparation
- Must be able to participate in pre-camp training days.
Qualifications
- Applicants must be over 18 years of age
- Experience working with children and/or in environmental science, ecology, or similar background
- Ability to work outdoors in varying terrain and weather conditions
- First Aid/CPR certification a plus

Compensation Information
Salary is hourly and based on experience. Salary range from $15-$20 per hour.
