Cerulean Warbler
In May we birders celebrate the return of the warblers, “the butterflies of the bird world.” Connecticut is in the nesting range of the rare and beautiful Cerulean Warbler and May is the best time to see it as it often stays high in the canopy, difficult to see once the trees leaf out.

International Migratory Bird Day was celebrate at Birdcraft with a wonderful bird banding morning on Saturday, May 9! The banders caught 5 species and 18 individual birds: 14 Gray Catbirds, 1 Ruby Crowned Kinglet, 1 Common Yellowthroat, 1 Warbling Vireo, and 1 Yellow Rumped Warbler!
