Connecticut Audubon’s 6th annual Migration Madness Birdathon was held May 20-21, 2023.
Participants competed for a bevy of great prizes in categories created to include as many people as possible, including the Birdathon Photo Contest.
The Birdathon has been lucky to be able to award as a grand prize original works by artist Keith Mueller of Killingworth.
This year Keith contributed a carving of a Rock Ptarmigan.
Every participant who saw or heard 40 species over the weekend (and submitted an eBird checklist that weekend) and also raised at least $40 was eligible for a random drawing to pick a winner. Young birders 12 and under were eligible if they raised $25 and saw 25 species.
Winner: Joanne Bourque, of Putnam.
