Join us for an hour on a weekday morning as we tour one of the CT Audubon's newest sanctuaries along the Lieutenant River, looking for fall migrants and the last summer residents. Registration is required.
Join us for a day of fall fun! Outdoor explorations, hands-on science experiments, games, and creative activities are in store! Dress to be outdoors rain or shine. Program is for ages 5 – 10. Each child should bring a water bottle, snack and lunch. Registration is required.

Join us for this parent/caregiver and child nature class designed for children who are 3 to 5 years old. Activities will encourage discovery, explorations, and expression through stories, hands-on activities, and art.
Parents, grandparents, and guardians come out for some fresh air with your toddlers, take a nature walk, and enjoy an activity or story. Led by retired Pomfret Community School kindergarten teacher, Carolyn Otto, the morning will be full of fun adventures. Dress for the weather. Register by calling 860-928-4948. Fee: $4 per child per session for CAS members; $8 per child per session. (Fee is for one toddler with one adult.)
Play and sing songs written from 1959-1963, the years the Teales lived at Trail Wood. A PDF of chords and lyrics will be provided. Simple chords will be projected on screen so all levels can follow along! Limited to 10 participants per session. Registration required. Email trailwood@ctaudubon.org. Free.

Walking the Cedar Island and Meg’s Point trails we will search for both land and water birds in a variety of habitats including sandy beach, rocky shore, salt marsh and woods. With fall migration still underway we are likely to record an excellent species list and are likely to encounter a few that are uncommon or rare in Connecticut.

Looking for a challenge? Enjoy the thrill of a brisk hike at Deer Pond Farm in the crisp autumn air! This 4–5-mile hike (2-2.5- mile per hour pace) will be led by volunteer Peggy Stewart. This hike has some gradual climbs and we'll be stepping it out. Come dressed for the weather.
