Who We Are
Connecticut Audubon is one of the country’s oldest conservation organizations, now in its 128th year of protecting Connecticut’s birds, wildlife, and habitats. At the Fairfield Nature Center, that mission comes to life: a place where roughly 30,000 visitors a year, and over 6,000 students across 210 classes, come to see, touch, and understand the natural world firsthand.
The Center sits at the edge of the 155-acre Larsen Wildlife Sanctuary, whose seven miles of trails, including the fully accessible one-mile Chiboucas Loop, serve as the living classroom for the community.
Just steps away, the recently renovated Birds of Prey Compound puts visitors face to face with seven non-releasable raptors, powerful, feathered ambassadors for the wild places they represent, along a fully accessible raised boardwalk built for exploration.
