Fairfield Nature Explorer Program – in Partnership with Pequot Library

Adventures await with the family-friendly Summer Nature Explorer Program - a collaboration between CT Audubon and Pequot Library.

1. Begin your adventure at Pequot Library, where John James Audubon's iconic Birds of America folio is on display in the Reading Room. Each week, a new page is unveiled, revealing one of Audubon's stunning watercolor illustrations of a native bird species.

2. Sign out a Nature Explorer backpack and field guide and take them with you on a scavenger hunt to search for the featured Audubon birds through Fairfield's parks, trails, beaches, and open spaces. Along the way, you'll build your bird identification skills while learning more about the wildlife that calls Fairfield home.

It's a free, fun interactive way for families and nature lovers of all ages to connect with birds, explore Fairfield's natural areas, and experience the wonder of the outdoors all summer long.
