Project Limulus Horseshoe Crab Tagging

Join Dr. Jo-Marie Kasinak of Sacred Heart University to tag horseshoe crabs! Tagging these animals helps researchers track their population, locate important breeding grounds, and better understand Long Island Sound's ecology. Enjoy a day on the sandbar locating this unique arthropod, taking initiative in community science, and learning more about the world around us.

The walk to the sandbar is fairly flat, but will take place on loose sand with little shade. Please bring good walking shoes and water. Dress appropriately for the weather, as it tends to be windy at the coast. There are bathrooms on site at the Coastal Center.
