Bird Friendly Fall 2026
Look for the full schedule in late summer
Connecticut Audubon will celebrate the 2026 migration with a Bird-Friendly Fall. We are planning two dozen or more programs throughout Connecticut,. Like Connecticut Audubon’s Migration Magic in May, these are designed for all levels of skill and enthusiasm, and all ages.
Join us for a fall of spectacular birding and bird programs
People who love birds can’t wait for spring migration, and for good reason — after a long winter, the arrival of 3.7 billion birds from south of the border seems like a deluge of song and color.
And yet for sheer numbers, fall migration is far bigger than spring — one billion birds bigger.
On some nights here in Connecticut, migration reaches 6 million birds or higher.
It’s a reminder that fall is a great time to celebrate and enjoy birds by going birding. And it’s a great time to do a few simple things to help birds make their journeys safely.
We’re call it the Bird-Friendly Fall.
